He departed this life on Monday, April 17, 2017. He accepted Christ as his personal Savior and was Baptized. He united with Union Hill Baptist Church where he remained a member until death. He served faithfully as a Deacon, member of the Male Chorus, Choir and Brotherhood. He was united in marriage to Gertrude Bell on August 31, 1946. To this union, three children were born. He was preceded in death by his parents. Sammie E. and Alsada Moore Sr.; his wife, Gertrude Bell Moore, his son, Marion (Ricky) Moore Jr., three grandsons, Timothy Anderson, Reginald Anderson and Jerome Jurrells; three brothers; Sammie Moore Jr, Eugene Moore Sr and Howard Moore Sr.; four sisters; Juanita Arnold, Larcella Taylor, Lillie Collins and Bernice Adams. He leaves to cherish his memory; two daughters; Ruby Jurrells (Ira) of Georgetown, TX and Christina Anderson (Chester) of Austin, TX.; eleven grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; four sisters; Thelma Black, Barbara Harris of Manor, TX, Mildred Bell of Elgin, TX and Annette Henderson of San Antonio, TX and a host of relatives and friends. He loved singing, listening to gospel music, watching western movies, Court Cases, Family Feud, working with his hands and keeping his car clean. He was a significant role model and loved very much by many.
