

Marjory Sadler Price, 87, died in Austin, Texas, on March 30, 2004. Mrs. Price was born in Houston, Texas, on March 6, 1917, to Dickerman and Lillian Cade Sadler. She attended public schools in El Campo, Conroe and Livingston, Texas, and Tyler Junior College. Marjory and Ned Price, Sr. were married on December 23, 1938, and were husband and wife until his death in 1999. They lived in Tyler, Texas, where Ned served as a state representative and county judge until they moved to Austin in 1958. Marjory was a wonderful partner to her husband throughout his career as an elected and appointed holder of public office because she loved people. She made many friends because of her warm, genuine and encouraging spirit, and they responded to her in kind. She was a great talker and listener. In high school, she was the Texas Interscholastic Leagues Girl State Declamation Champion. She was a natural on the piano, and her family and friends loved to listen to her play. Marjory was active as a volunteer, member and officer in many charitable and civic organizations, including the Settlement Club of Austin, the Docents for the Governors Mansion, the Tyler Council of Church Women, the Austin Lawyers Wives Club, and the State Officials Ladies Club. She was a faithful and active member of Marvin Methodist Church in Tyler, and then of University Methodist Church in Austin. Her family will always hold her close in their hearts. Mrs. Price was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brothers, Dickerman and Charles Sadler, and her sisters-in-law, Annie Price and Patsy Sadler. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Ned Price, Jr. and Sue Harrington Price, of Houston, and William Bennett King Price and Ann Abrams Price, of Austin, her grandchildren, Andrew Paul Price, Alice Ann Pritchett, William Bennett King Price III and John Alan Price, her great-granddaughter, Lindsey Ann Price, her sisters and brothers-in-law, Corrine and Jack Naumann, of Midland, Texas, and Ann Lynn and Ed Hill, of Amarillo, Texas, her sister-in-law, Mary Ann Hoffman of St. Louis, Missouri, and numerous nieces, nephews and relatives, all of whom she dearly loved. The family will receive visitors at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, from 6:00 8:00 p.m., Thursday, April 1, 2004. A graveside service for the family will be held at the State Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, April 2, 2004 at University Methodist Church, 24th at Guadalupe in Austin, Texas.
