I was very sorry to hear about Mark’s passing. I first met Mark and Lucia, thru friends, Carl & Carol Podany. We went together and stayed at their place in Andros, Bahamas, several years ago. They opened up their home and made our stay enjoyable. We came back the next year too. Before the week was up, Mark had us all masters at hooking washers.
The loss of someone dear to us is never easy. Take comfort in the fact that you are surrounded by people, that love and care for you. May fond memories of Mark bring you comfort during this hard time, in your life. I am honored and blessed to have known Mark.

As I think about Marks passing, I think first and foremost of Lucia and the rest of his family and friends and their natural sorrow in losing such a remarkable man, who had been there for each and everyone one of us. It is hopeless to try to express my feelings in mere words, but I shall try. Mark meant more to me than any man I have ever met. Buildings, cities, even whole nations can be restored, but the untimely death of someone so beloved as Mark is an irreparable loss. It brings home to me forcibly the heartaches and sadness that are always with us.
Be cruel as life can be, it is far better for we who carry on to put forth a little extra effort above and beyond what we would have ordinarily put forth- just a slight token of ourselves, of our destination, to do our very best every day of our lives, in memory of Mark.
So, in this inadequate letter, I tell you, that I am so very sorry Mark is no longer with us, but I believe he is here still in all of us. Death is the inevitable goal, and there may be some small degree of consolation in the thought that death is but a narrow starlit strip between the companionship of yesterday and the happy reunion of tomorrow. I shall hug you again, I know it.

To my son, you can be sure we will never be entirely without you, I know I won’t. For your spirit is incorporated in everyone one that loves you.

May God Bless each of you and may God bless; Mark “the Captain” Branning

I love you
