Mark D. Crump went home to the LORD on March 22, 2013. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Sandy Crump; two sons, Marcus Crump and Lucas Crump; as well as his parents, Bob and Reanonda Crump; Brother, Joe Crump; and sisters, Twyla Crump and Sue Flores. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and many, many friends.
Mark began his career in nursing at the Amarillo Hospital District after graduating from Northwest Texas Hospital School of Nursing in May, 1976. In Amarillo, he worked in various nursing roles until 1978 when he moved to Hermann Hospital in Houston, Texas. Following misguided love in 1981, he moved to Massachusetts, where he worked at Charles River Hospital in Wellesley, before returning back to Amarillo in 1986.
He most recently worked as RN Educator for Seton Family of Hospitals in Austin, Texas (formerly Shoal Creek Hospital). A co-worker that had the pleasure of working with him for many years feels "as if one of the cornerstones of our hospital is now missing…He was more than a peer; he was family, part of our long history. He helped us set our course and shoot for the stars."
To his family and friends, he will be remembered for being compassionate, caring and for having a happy-go-lucky hippie style. He always singing, humming or whistling as he worked.
Mark's life will be celebrated in a memorial at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home at 2620 South Congress Ave. in Austin, TX 78704 (512-442-1446 |Map) beginning at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, March, 27, 2013. Everyone is invited to wear your TIE-DYE in honor of Marks' love for all things TIE-DYE or dress casually. Visitors are also welcome to come say their farewells from 10:00 AM to 6:00PM.
