Friends and family will celebrate the life of Mark Richard Davis, Saturday at 2 pm at Wilke-Clay-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress with a service led by the Reverend Doctor David Creech of Wimberley. Born August 4, 1972 in Brownsville, Mark grew up in League City before moving to Austin. He was an avid reader and an accomplished writer. Mark loved all things Texan, children, music, his large family of aunts, uncles, and cousins, along with his remarkable group of cherished friends. All who knew him will miss his big hugs, irreverent humor, and unique outlook on life. Preceding him in death are his beloved step-father Jack Sallis and grandparents Coynell Birdwell, and Glen R. and Jo Sallis. Surviving family members include mother, Jackie Sallis, twin brother Bill Davis, sister Sarah Sallis, grandparents George Birdwell of Dickinson and Wanda and Bill Davis of San Antonio, nephew Jackson Baker of Austin, and nieces Moriah Sallis of Oklahoma City, and his "Mockingbird," Lily Davis Ritter, of San Antonio. On July 30, 2004, Mark moved on, leaving those who had the privilege of knowing him with rich memories.
