Mark was one of my first and favorite bosses ever -  way back in his budding food and beverage career in Austin in the early 90's. I was 20 then.

He seemed to be always smiling.  That's my snapshot of him, anyway.  We shared more than a few shifts exchanging biting and witty banter and dying laughing some times.   He certainly shaped my work ethic and I'm thankful for that.  

I found this obituary because I wanted to tell him that I am naming an up-cycled paint brand after his signature drink - the Grey Squirrel.  (Reserved for boneheads on their 21st bday free shot crawl.)

But he's gone and too young.  My heart to those that were close to him.  Clearly we did not keep up, but Mark had an impact on me and I wanted his people to hear from me that I think Mark is a good egg.  

So from a long. lost friend, in the flash of a moment in time, he was great to know. and I'm better for it.

I was honored to have worked with Mark on a successful project for UT a couple of years as a colleague, and he was instrumental assuring its success. Mark had a great smile and kind heart.

Mark was a special person and that was evident all the way back in High School.  We played baseball together and he portrayed the values of a great person.

Most of my memories of Mark are from our childhood visiting Grandma and Grandpa Broussard in Abbeville when he and Missy and Neily and Aunt Jane and Uncle Murray would visit from Texas.  We used to chase the sheep until Grandpa would come after us with a stick.  I loved Mark.  He was always so kind and funny. I wish I had known Mark as an adult and father.  

My deepest sympathies to all of you.  I lift each of you up in prayer daily.  

"For he has not despised or scorned the suffering of the afflicted one; he has not hidden his face from him, but has listened to his cry for help." Psalm 22:24

I only knew Mark briefly in high school, we worked together in a sporting goods store. Obviously he left a lasting impression and will not be forgotten. 
My heartfelt condolences to all of us who will miss him terribly.
But his spirit lives on thanks to God.

Mark was my first cousin and I will always have wonderful memories of our childhood visits in Houston and at his Aunt Pearl and Uncle John's, my parents,
