Martha Ruth Fredregill Darby, 79, of Kyle, TX passed away on July 29, 2026, after a brief illness. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends. Always someone to help others in need, Martha gave of herself until the last. Martha loved classic country music and dancing. An adventurous spirit who in her younger days enjoyed traveling and seeing new sights.
She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Dan; her son Barry Cauthen, of Georgetown, TX; her daughters, Rhonda O’Hara, and Amanda MacAdoo, both of Buda; 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, with a 21st expected in October; her brothers Bernie Fredregill, of Richmond, TX, and James Forbes, of Montgomery, TX; and, countless nieces and nephews of “Aunt Mart”. Family meant everything to Martha. She always said there was no such thing as “step” children in her family and her happiest times were when she was surrounded with the joy and laughter of family gatherings. She was the matriarch of the clan and will be irreplaceable. It is just hoped that her grandchildren will share the memories of “Crazy Granny” with their children and in turn their grandchildren. She will be missed.
A celebration of her life will be held at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at 2:00 pm. Family viewing will be on that same date at 1:00 pm.
