
Martin S. Kermacy was born April 6, 1915 in Kula, Hungary. He died in Austin, Texas on June 8, 2007. His professional education was at the University of Pennsylvania, B. Arch 38, M. Arch 39. In 1954, he was elected president of the Austin Chapter, American Institute of Architects. He taught at the UT School of Architecture, Austin, from 1947 to 1983, retiring as Professor Emeritus of Architecture and Planning. He was preceded in death by Evelyn G. Stein, of York, PA, his wife of 57 years. Since her death, her friend and his, Jayne L. Klein, of Austin, has been a loving companion. Immediate family is sister Anne Mayer of Lithia Springs, GA; her son, Kenneth Mayer of Collegeville, PA; and her daughter, Joanne Mayer Trew of Whitesburg, GA. For many of the early years, the family resided in various locations in the Philadelphia area. In keeping with Martins wishes, his remains will be willed to UT Health Sciences Center, San Antonio, to promote medical knowledge and no services will be held.
