Marvin C. Sherrod, age 78, passed away Friday, November 12, 2004 after his courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Velda; daughter, Jan Sherrod Clay of Bastrop; sons, Mike and Darcy Sherrod, Mountain Home, Arkansas; and Mark and Penny Sherrod of Austin; his sister, Dorothy Clarendon; and his six grandchildren, Christy, Scott, Michael, Matthew, Paul, and Travis; and many wonderful friends and neighbors. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lynne Sherrod Peden. He was born in Marceline, Missouri, and grew up in Salida, Colorado. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Air Corps in 1945. He graduated from The University of Texas in 1948. He took pride and satisfaction in his work and was the managing partner in Foxglove Executive Suites until 3 months prior to his death. A Memorial Service will be held, Tuesday, November 16, 2004, at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Wilke-Clay, Fish Funeral Home, 2620 S. Congress Avenue in Austin, Texas.
