Mary Quiroz Alvarez, age 77 of Austin passed away July 19, 2008. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sotero and Ester Alvarez; brothers, Vicente Parra and Paul and Benny Alvarez; and sisters, Sara Loera Estrada and Janie A. Reyes. Mary is survived by her son, James Alvarez and granddaughter, Marcelina Ester Alvarez and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to express its gratitude to Heritage Duval Gardens, Trinity Care Center and Lighthouse Hospice for their compassionate care in the last years of Mary's life. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 7:00 P.M. on Monday, July 21, 2008 at the Wilke-Clay-Fish Chapel. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at St. Ignatius Catholic Church at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 22, 2008. Burial will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
