Mary Adkins Fariss passed away on June 12, 2023 in Austin, Texas at the age of 89. Mary was born on June 27, 1933 in Gatesville, Texas to Mae Ella and Earl Leslie Adkins. Mary enjoyed many hobbies and was often immersed in a book, painting, crocheting, sewing Christmas stockings, singing in the church choir, or going to the movies. She was devoted to her beloved pets, and she adopted many cats and dogs throughout her life.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, James Lee Fariss, Jr., her parents, her sister, and her granddaughter. Mary is survived by her children, Joe Fariss and Jill Fariss, and many nieces and nephews.
In accordance with her wishes, no formal service will be held. Remembrances may be made to Austin Animal Center.
