Mary Garcia Pena

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Mary G. Peña, a deeply loved and cherished matriarch of our family. She was born on March 6, 1932, in El Campo, Texas, to Albert Sr. and Juanita Garcia, whom she loved dearly. Our beloved “Mary” entered into her Eternal Life on May 30th, 2026.

Mary lived a full life rooted in faith, love, and resilience. She served her Christian church in many capacities, and singing hymns brought her immense joy. Her devotion to her faith was evident in the way she lived and the kindness she shared with others.

Family was the center of Mary’s world, and she nurtured them with unwavering love and care, extending the same warmth and compassion to everyone she encountered. She had a special gift for making people feel seen, valued, and cherished. Her home was always a place of comfort, acceptance, and genuine love.

Mary is lovingly survived by her children, David Rodriguez and Brenda Casas; her numerous grandchildren, many cherished great-grandchildren, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever hold her in their hearts. She is preceded in death by her husband of over 30 years, Jesse Peña; and her children, Sylvia (Daughter), Fred (Son), Thomas (Son), Nick (Son), Jesse (Son), and several close loved ones.

Funeral service will be held on June 9th at 2:00pm at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Blvd, Austin, TX 78752. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of Mary’s life.
