Our dearest Matias C. "Sonny" Limon Jr. was called by our Heavenly Father on Saturday, June 3, 2017. Matias was born on November 1, 1931.
He is preceded in death by his beloved children Rita Limon and Larry Limon, his siblings Fransisco Limon Sr., Alejandra Euresti, Susie Medina and his parents Matias and Inocencia Limon.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Guadalupe Quiroz Limon; his children Christina Limon, Joe Michall Limon, Roland Limon, and Vincent Rene & Barbara Limon; his siblings Dominga Murrieta, her husband Lee, Chris Vela, her husband Edward, Martha Mendoza, her husband Joe, Daniel Limon, his wife Carolyn, Janie Limon, Frances Smith, her late husband Don, Josie Garcia, her late husband Robert and Catherine Belyea and her late husband Steve. Matias adored his Grandchildren: Leticia (Frankie) Sanchez, Marina Ann (Aaron) Flournoy, Stephanie Marie (Daniel) Perez, Mick "Miguelito" Limon, Vincent Rene Limon Jr., David Lewis (Montserrat) Limon, Steven Anthony (Jennifer) Limon, Joshua Daniel Limon, Nicholas Paul Limon, Phillip Alexander Limon and his Great-Grandchildren: Joe Anthony Limon, David Sanchez, Moses Limon, Ava Isabella Flournoy, Matias Aaron Flournoy, Rene Adam Limon, Maximilian Vaughn Perez, Noah Limon, Alexandra Sloane Perez and Diego Nash Sanchez.
Matias will be remembered for his love for his family, friends, cooking, sweets, crossword puzzles, his three Yorkshire Terriers; Ginger, Geeno and Gunnar, jokes at the dinner table, and his kind and gentle manner to everyone he met.
The recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held on Thursday, June 8th at 7 o'clock p.m. at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 S Congress Ave.
Mass of resurrection will be held on Friday June 9th at 10 o'clock a.m. at San Jose Catholic Church with Father Tom Frank and Father Alberto Borruel.
Committal Services will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are his Grandsons, Mick "Miguelito" Limon, Daniel Perez Jr., David Limon, Joshua Limon, Nicholas Limon and Phillip Limon. Honorary Pallbearers are his Grandsons, Vincent Limon Jr., Steven Anthony Limon, Frankie Sanchez; his nephews, Vic Murrieta, Martin Limon Jr., Paul Belyea and his Godson, Steven Lafuente.
The family would like to thank the emergency staff at St. David's South Austin Hospital.
