

Maurine Elliott Spaw Our beloved Mimi who gave love, loyalty, and direction to three generations of family has completed her worldly reign and is now celebrating with the angels. Maurine Elizabeth Elliott Spaw a resident of Austin, Texas, died on September 26, 2004. Maurine was born in Liberty Hill, Texas, on November 10, 1917, to Hiram Neal and Willie Maurine (Atkinson) Elliott. She was preceded in death by her parents and by two brothers, Col. Jack Elliott (retired) and Lt. Col. Bill Elliott. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Chester Lamar Spaw; her son Steve and his wife, Patsy; her daughter Nancy and her husband, Avarice McLain; one sister, Mary Ann Nobles; two brothers, Hiram and Richard Elliott; grandchildren Scott and Kim Spaw, Jeff Spaw, Christy and Scott Biggers, Cindy and Chad Godfrey, Greg and Becky Spaw, and Stacy and Ray Akins; and 17 great grandchildren. The family wishes to thank Dr. Sonstein and the other physicians, staff, and volunteers of South Austin Hospital who provided loving care for our Mimi who herself spent 10 years as a volunteer at the hospital. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 29, 2004, at Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel. Interment will follow at Wallace Mountain Cemetery in Dripping Springs.
