Michael Vincent Junk, 51, suddenly and swiftly passed from the imperfections of this world into the peacefulness of eternal life on Oct. 1, 2014. Born and raised in Austin, Mike was a 1981 graduate of William B. Travis High School and earned various degrees from the School of Hard Knocks. A blend of bold, caring and unpredictable, Mike loved and was loved by his children, mother, siblings, in-laws, relatives and, yes, several women through the years. A professional jack of all trades, Mike especially enjoyed the thrill of riding Harleys, refurbishing vintage cars, displaying his air-brush painting talents, and appreciating a wide range of music.
He is preceded in death his father, Daniel I. Junk.
Michael is survived by his son, Joshua Michael Junk; and daughters, Chelsea Nicole Junk and Sterling Junk; mother, Frances Junk; siblings, Mary Bialaszewski and husband Joe, Edward Terrazas and wife Kelley, Katie Congdon and husband Philip, Yvonne Wilson and husband Charley, John Junk and wife Lore, Tony Junk and wife Nanette; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be 4-6 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 4 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 S. Congress, Austin. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 6:00 pm on Sunday, Oct. 5th at Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel. A celebration of life and mass of Christian burial will be at 9:30 am Monday, Oct. 6th at St. Ignatius Martyr Catholic Church, 126 W. Oltorf. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be nephews, Matthew Bialaszewski, Jason Bialaszewski, Eddie Terrazas, Jesse Longoria, Daniel Junk, and Dustin Junk.
