
Jim and Tom, I am a distant cousin of your dad. My mom. Phyllis Vest Schild and your grandpa Tom were cousins. When Tom,Mary Ellen, Donna, Leeann and your dad would visit Quincy they would stay at my grandma and grandpa Vest house. We visited them many times when they lived in Broomfield. I have many fond memories of your dad and grandparents



I had a lot of great times with Mike Sander. He was a mighty fun guy to hang out with. I met a lot of other fine people through him, too. (Howdy to my friends overseas!)

I met Mike at football, (sorry soccer), for Deep Eddy, and he was always happy and smiling and helped to introduce me to the sport of beer and BBQ - I could not have asked for a better introduction to the USA and Texas in particular. He will be missed



I was Mike's roommate when I was attending UT in the mid-70's. His sons, who were 4 and 8 at the time, lived there, too. Mike and I kept in touch for a few years after we went our separate ways, and I have nothing but fond memories of those days...



James & Tommy,       My heart is saddened by the loss of your Dad. As you may remember that my husband & I owned Jim's Place when you and your Dad lived in Granger, while he worked at the Lake. James you were friends with my son Alan Stefek and you stayed lots of times at our house or ya'll camped out at the creek. Tommy was friends with my daughter Nancy. We had alot of good memories with Mike. This Christmas, we even mentioned we wished we knew where Mike was in Austin, so we could all get together. James, remember the time you were at our house and you had a appendecitis attack and I drove you to the hospital and you had to have emergency Surgery? I will never forget that night. I could go on and on about the memories. Please contact me, I would love to talk to you both. We will miss Mike. He was one of a kind. Someone with a big heart and he loved you both very much. Although we were several years apart in age and lived many miles apart, we always loved the visits from the only cousins we had -Donna, Mike, and Leanne.Over the years, Mike and I had several interesting phone conversations. I could tell he loved his 2 boys and was so proud of them. Mike always had a heart as big as Texas itself.You all have our deepest sympathy.Heaven will be a more colorful place with him there!!!



Our deepest condolences from Dublin. Mike welcomed us to Austin, particularly with the Deep Eddy soccer team( opponents rarely got past him in one piece) and some great times in Kerville. He has left the Game too early but was a great friend. Take care of yourselves, Cormac and Anne.



I have lost a good friend and ex team-mate. Hope the beers and bbq taste just as good up there, Mike!



I also have great memories of Mike. He gave much and wanted nothing in return. He cooked many meals for me including fabulous Thanksgiving feasts. Kerrville would not have been Kerrville without Mike. Even with that stinky keg beer and the condo building chiggers in our legs, Mike always keep the party going. His heart was pure gold. Jimmy and Tommy must be proud sons! Althought I haven't seen him in years, I will miss you, Mike. Ciao



Mike was there anytime I needed him.He was a family to me I needed in the U.S. He kept me sane.Tons of memories I will sherish forever.  He was a unique individual that pretty much mapped his life for his kids.  "To God we belong and To Him we will return"

I have many fun and funny memories of Mike! It won't be the same to have an "oldtimers" gathering without him! Champion of the bbq's!



I have some very good memories of a good dad with two little boys we called Jimmy and Tommy...at the time they could not have been more than 7 and 9 or so, I too remember Kerrville Folk Music Fest and many BBQ's...Mike was fun and I agree he did life his way. My heart felt condolences to all who were close to him!



We have many fond memories of Mike, Jimmy and Tommy from Kerrville Festivals and the CB Club. He will truly be missed. Altho we have been apart for many years Mike and the boys were always in our hearts and minds.



Mike did life his way.  I have some great memories of Mike: at Kerrville; playing soccer; there were the lamb and goat bbqs and of course there was beer, and a huge belly laugh and those eyes.   See you on the other side Mike, don't burn the bbq!
