

He graduated High School, and had many ongoing education classes. He worked in public service his entire life at nursing homes, Brown Schools/Healthcare International, and similarly served disabled students at the Texas School for the Blind & Visually Impaired Residential Community for more than twenty-two years with perfect attendance for more than 7 years. He served his final years as overnight residential supervisor.
He is preceded in death by his father Earnest, his mother Ellis Mae, and four siblings: Darrell, Rick, Donnie, and Matt. Michael is survived by his partner of more than twenty-five years, Steve Blake, his sister Mary Hernandez of Round Rock, and many nephews and nieces, great nephews and great nieces, his aunt Mabel and uncle 'Red' of Beavercreek, Ohio, several cousins in Ohio, other beloved in-laws in Florida, as well as his 'cousin' Dee Roes & family, and 'adoptive' mother Carolyn Blake both from Leander, Texas.
He will be deeply missed by all, profoundly by many.
Memorial services will be held on Sunday, October 21, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Chapel of the Hills Cook-Walden at 9700 Anderson Mill Road.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to his favorite charities: World Vision, St. Jude’s Children's Hospital, or Campus Crusade for Christ.
