Mike, son of Mary and Manuel Garcia, was born on Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 1980 in Vicenza, Italy. Mike's father was in the Army, which allowed him to live many places, including Vicenza, Lawton, OK, Sioux City, IA, Ft. Bragg, NC, Leipheim, Germany, and Fayetteville, NC before landing in Austin, TX. He attended high school in Austin, and graduated from Austin Community College and Texas State University with a double major in Art and Sociology.
Mike was a published poet, artist, and spent many years working in theater arts construction and design
He is survived by his mother Mary Garcia, brother Daniel (Mimi) Garcia, nephew Aiden Garcia and niece Quinne Garcia. He is predeceased by his father Manuel Garcia
Services will be held at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 3125 N. Lamar Blvd, Austin, TX at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 13, 2018.
