

Milton A. Garrison, age 77, passed away peacefully at his daughter's home on Friday, February 6, 2009. He was born on July 2, 1931 to Louie and Loye Garrison in Van Dyke, Michigan. Milt, also affectionately called Buck, Sarge, Dad and Grandpa proudly served in the United States Air Force for over 22 years. In 1970, the family moved to the Valley, where he continued his love of flying as a pilot for the US Immigration Service in McAllen Texas. Upon retiring in 1986 with almost 40 years combined government service, he and his wife, Louise enjoyed many wonderful years together playing golf and travelling in their motor home visiting family and friends. This past year, he moved to Austin to live closer to his daughter and family. Mr. Garrison was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Louise Garrison and son, Kurt Garrison. He is survived by his daughter, Kim Bohls and her husband Bill of Austin, Texas and his son, Kirk Garrison and wife Jenny of New Orleans, Louisiana. In addition, he is survived by his sister Norma Abbott of St Clair Michigan, 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and his much loved cat, Sam. For those desiring, memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Carrollton Avenue Church of Christ, 4540 S. Carrollton Ave, New Orleans, Louisiana 70119 to help with their Hurricane Katrina rebuilding efforts. A private graveside service will be held in McAllen Texas.
