

Minnie Jewel Irish Rapp Minnie Jewel Irish Rapp, 68, was led home by the Holy Spirit on June 13, 2005 at her home. She was the only child of Melvin Milton and Era Hughes Irish. She was born June 25, 1936 at home and grew up in Center, Texas. She graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches and began teaching school. She met her beloved husband of 47 years, Robert Paul Rapp, MD. They were married on August 3, 1957. Newly married, she traveled by ship to Wiesbaden, Germany where they spent 3 glorious years and had 2 daughters. The family moved to Austin, Texas in 1961 where she taught school for many years. She was a docent at the Bob Bullock Texas History Museum, a member of the Life Time Learning Institute, a longtime member of Alpha Delta Kappa, she had been a troop leader for the Girl Scouts, was a founding member of the Friends of the American Heritage Education Workshop, and a member of Tarrytown United Methodist Church. Her life was full of love. She loved being a daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, friend and teacher. Many children were lovingly taught by Min. She felt blessed all her life that people loved her and were kind to her. She had a love and zeal for life and a passion for learning and teaching. She loved God, Texas history, her husband, her children and grandchildren. Min was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved aunt and uncle Inez and Leon Forbes. Min is survived by her husband; daughter, Elizabeth Ann Rapp LeBas and her husband, David of Amarillo; daughter, Janice Lynn Rapp Stovall and her husband, Mark of Austin; 4 grandchildren, Nicholas Alan Stovall, Robert Luke LeBas, Andrew Joseph Stovall, and Amy Michelle LeBas. Well done good and faithful servant. Matthew 25:21 A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 15, 2005, at Tarrytown United Methodist Church, 2601 Exposition Blvd., Austin, Texas.
