

Myrtice J. Lohman Oakley, 66, passed away November 20, 2014. She was born in Austin, Texas, on March 26, 1948. Her parents Owen and Dessie Lohman welcomed her into their family with seven siblings. Myrtice lived in Austin and graduated from Wm. Travis High School in 1966. She also graduated from the University of Texas School of Nursing at Austin, Texas.
Myrtice met and married the love of her life, Harvey Ross Oakley. They were married on December 22, 1972 and enjoyed 41 years of marriage. Myrtice and Harvey were blessed with two daughters, Tasha Yvonne Oakley Ottmers and Amanda Beth Oakley. Tasha and her husband Nolan Ottmers II, live with their family in the Texas Hill Country. Tasha and Nolan blessed Myrtice and Harvey with four wonderful grandchildren, Amanda Ottmers, Cody Pruett, Sierra Ottmers, and Nolan Ottmers, III. Myrtice cherished her family and lived close enough to be an influential part in their lives. She enjoyed being a loving grandmother and spent every moment she could with her family.
Myrtice was a very spiritual person and her faith in God was a vital part of her life. She attended the Church of Christ and was baptized in her early teens. As Matriarch of her family, she passed on her beliefs in honor, honesty, and ethical principles to her loved ones. She supported her husband and children in all aspects of their lives and was a wonderful mother and wife.
Mytrice is survived by her husband of 41 years, Harvey Oakley; her daughter Tasha and her husband Nolan, and their four children Amanda, Cody, Sierra and Nolan, III; her daughter Amanda Beth; five sisters; and three brothers. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and many other friends and relatives.
Visitation will be held Sunday, November 23, 2014, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Monday, November 24, 2014, at 2:00 p.m., in the chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home.
