Nancy Kalstad

Nancy Genevieve Kalstad, 90, of Austin, TX passed away peacefully on December 12, 2025. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Nancy will be lovingly remembered for her kindness, wisdom and gentle spirit that touched the lives of all who knew her.

Born on May 7, 1935, in Chappell Hill, TX to Michael & Agnes Krolczyk. Nancy grew up surrounded by the warmth of a close-knit community and the beauty of the Texas countryside. Her love of nature began early and would blossom into a lifelong passion for gardening. Known for her green thumb, she cultivated not just flowers and plants, but also meaningful friendships that endured through the decades.

She married Raymond Eugene Kalstad on July 4, 1964. They were married 34 years until Ray’s passing on January 31, 1999. Nancy is survived by her son Kevin Kalstad, her daughter Pamela Lott and her granddaughter Amanda Lamb, who will carry her memory forward with gratitude and love. She was preceded in death by her son Brian Kalstad and many brothers and sisters.

A visitation will be held on December 23, 2025, from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home, located at 6300 West William Cannon Drive Austin, TX 78749. The funeral service will follow at the same location on December 23, 2025, starting at 1:00pm. A graveside service will take place on December 23, 2025, at 2:00pm, at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home.

The family asks that her memory be honored through acts of kindness and care for others, reflecting the way Nancy lived her life.
