Nancy Marie Kern passed away on 12 November 2020 in her home at the age of 89 with her family by her side. She was born to the late Rev. Fred and Nellie Mclaughlin on September 18, 1931, in Queens, New York, and graduated from John Adams High School in 1949. Nancy married Gerard in 1953. Being an Air Force family, they moved around the world together, including 2 years in Japan and 4 years in England, before retiring to Austin in 1971. Nancy was a dedicated wife, nurturing mother and was immensely proud of her family. She leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories.

My condolences to the entire family. Especially my Stepdad Dale. I grew up spending the holidays and other visits with Nancy and have many special memories from that time. I wish I could be there with them now.

Love, Stephanie

I remember spending holidays and visits with Nancy and Gerry with my wife Stephanie and later with our 3 children. She was always a very gracious host and loved the children. I know she will be missed by her husband and Dale, Doug and Dave. I hope she rests in peace after her long life.

It was so disappointing during this pandemic that I could not regularly see the awesome Kern family. During the past couple of years, before CoVid, Nancy and I rarely missed a Sunday where we didn't get to visit for at least a moment. It always made my heart glad to see her in her same seat in the sanctuary each Sunday. She had such a sweet heart and a faithful attention to worship and praising our Lord. I will especially miss getting to see her smile and hearing about her precious children, husband and grandchildren.
Grace and peace to each of you as you remember such a special woman.
