Nancy Weber LeNoir, a beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away July 12, 2026 in Houston, Texas, after a courageous battle and journey with dementia. Born on May 25, 1939 in Austin, Texas, to the late Richard Thorp Weber and Violetta VanDevanter Weber. Nancy lived a life defined by curiosity, warmth, and a deep love for the people around her.
Nancy grew up in Austin where she developed the sharp intellect and lively spirit that would define her throughout her life. It was during her high school years she met the love of her life Charles Secrest LeNoir, Jr. The two were sweethearts from the start and their marriage after college became the foundation of a beautiful family. Together Nancy and Charles built a life filled with love, laughter, and shared purpose.
Above all else, Nancy treasured her role as a mother to her two daughters, Ann LeNoir Rowe and Linda LeNoir. She poured herself into raising them, nurturing their growth with the same passion for learning and lively conversation that she carried in everything she did. In time, she became the proud and devoted grandmother to her grandsons Gladstone McLendon Rowe IV and Jackson LeNoir Rowe, delighting in every milestone and finding new joy in watching the next generation grow.
Nancy was extraordinarily smart and endlessly curious. She was the kind of person who always had a book or two nearby and who could engage anyone in a spirited conversation about the latest headlines and novels. She loved discussing current events, not for the sake of argument, but because she genuinely wanted to understand the world around her. She also enjoyed a good laugh, and those who knew her well treasured the way her humor could lighten any room.
Her passions extended well beyond the page. Nancy was an avid fan of college sports, cheering with enthusiasm and loyalty. She was a devoted bridge player, relishing both the strategy of the game and the friendships it brought. For years she was a member of the Junior League of Austin, she committed herself to community service and civic engagement. One of her most meaningful contributions in later life was her volunteer work reading and recording for the deaf, a quiet act of generosity that reflected her belief in the power of words and her desire to make them accessible to everyone.
Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved husband Charles Secrest LeNoir, Jr.; her parents Richard Thorp Weber and Violetta VanDevanter Weber; and her brother Richard Thorp Weber, Jr. She is survived by her daughters Ann LeNoir Rowe (beloved son-in-law Gladstone McLendon Rowe III) and Linda LeNoir; as well as her cherished grandsons, Mac and Jack, along with many friends and extended family members whose lives she touched.
Nancy’s faith was a steady and comforting presence throughout her life. She found strength in her Christian beliefs, and her family takes solace in knowing she is now at peace, reunited with Charles and the loved ones who went before her.
Nancy’s family wishes to thank everyone at Belmont Village Assisted Living at Hunters Creek for welcoming our mother to their community in 2019. Nancy loved everyone there. Back then she required no special care. Simply lived in the community and made lasting relationships with residents and staff. The past few years when she developed dementia and required constant care Belmont Village stepped up in every capacity and took such phenomenal care of Nancy. Her needs varied radically and it was a roller coaster but Belmont was ready each and every time as needed. We are especially thankful to her caregivers that were a constant presence during Nancy’s battle and difficult journey with Dementia. They were present and cared for her…many knew her in her better years before Dementia set in.
We are also thankful for the services of Bayou City Hospice. They were phenomenal in working with Nancy, us and Belmont staff in the last stages of Nancy’s life.
A private graveside service will be held for the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that you honor Nancy’s memory by picking up a good book, sharing a laugh with someone you love, or supporting literacy and accessibility programs in your community.
