Nathaniel Frasier (“Nat”) Robberson passed away at the age of 75, on Thursday, December 1, 2016, in Austin, Texas. Nat was born on May 15, 1941, in San Antonio, Texas, to Roy and Wilma Robberson. He had a brother, Phillip, and a sister, Sarah. The family moved around a lot because Roy was an officer in the U.S. Army.
Nat graduated from Jefferson High School in San Antonio and then attended the University of Texas at Austin. There, he met Janet Williams, whom he married and with whom he had two children, Michelle and Shane.
Nat received a Bachelor’s of Business Administration with Honors from UT in 1964, and he had “Orange Blood” ever since. He was an avid Texas Longhorns football and basketball fan.
He became a CPA in 1966, and he worked for many big companies over the years, including Peat Marwick, Robertson Distribution Systems, and Paktank USA. In November 2003, he began working for the State of Texas in the Office of the Comptroller of Public Accounts in Austin. At the time of his death, he was a Tax Analyst in the Direct Tax section of the Tax Policy Division of the Comptroller’s Office. On his personal time, he loved watching sports, drinking wine, reading, and being a “foodie.”
Nat is survived by his children, Michelle Robberson and Shane Robberson, as well as his three grandchildren, Madeline Robberson, Jack Robberson, and Charles Robberson. Nat lost his brother, the Rev. Phillip Robberson, just a few weeks before his own passing, on November 13, 2016. He is survived by his sister, Sarah Kathleen Robberson, his sister-in-law, Beverly Robberson, his nieces Jennifer Broussard and Kimberly Robberson, and several great-nieces and nephews, colleagues, and friends.
A Celebration of Nat’s Life will be at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, December 7, 2016, in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home with Gordon Broussard officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in Nathaniel’s memory to Stand Up 2 Cancer, www.standup2cancer.org
