I met Neil at Lee High School in Midland, TX when I moved there at the end of my jr year and became friends. I dated and married one of his good friends. A few years later I moved to Austin and who did I run into…. my friend Neil :-) My mom had a construction business here in Austin, coincidentally I ran into Neil often, she said he was the best! He loved Janet and was so proud of Michael. My prayers are with you both.

I wish everyone had a Neil in their life. He has made this world a more interesting place. He cared deeply for you if your were blessed enough to be his friend….and he had many! Buzz, Trevor and I had the wonderful opportunity to live across the street from the McElreaths for 30+ years. I cherish that more now than ever! We love this family! Our hearts are heavy and can’t imagine life on Missel Thrush without Neil. Praying Gods peace over Janet and Michael and the promise that they will see Neil again….. we all will😌🙏🏻

This is what a damn good man looks like. He was honest, loyal, fierce, genuine, and funny as hell. Neil would give you the shirt off of his back (if he was wearing one!).
He loved his family, life, and UT football; maybe not in that order depending on the season. His presence on this earth will be deeply missed by anyone who knew him.
Janet and Michael, our thoughts and love are with you.
