He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, America Beatrice Luna, daughter Katherine Ann Luna, and his sister, Noemi Ruth Cabazos.
Nephtali married America on July 3, 1961, in San Benito, Texas. They had three children Katherine, Alberto, and Samantha. After retiring from the U.S. Air Force, he worked and retired from the City of Austin.
He was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church where he played the piano for some years. In his younger days he participated in other church activities like the baseball team.
Later on in life he raised cattle and other farm animals on his ranch in Luling. One thing that everyone would say about Nephtali is that his personality was the best. He always had people laughing.
He was loved by just about everybody he met in life. When a person lives a good and honest life God rewards that person. His reward was a long good life with a great family. When he was in his last days many people came to say goodbye and to express their love. God gave him these last days as a token to his GREAT life. May God receive him and enjoy him as we did here on earth. Amen.
Nephtali is survived by his son Alberto Luna, daughter Samantha K. Hogan and husband Lee, brother David Luna, sisters Eunice Luna and Elizabeth Hernandez, grandchildren Erika Luna, Gabriella Luna, Damian Hogan, Carlos Luna and Hannah Luna, and great-grandson Xavier Garza, numerous other relatives, and a host of friends.
