

Nestor Nicholas Sotelo, age 84, passed away on Monday, February 20, in Irving, Texas. He is preceded in death by his son, Nestor, Jr.; his brothers, Tommy and Victor (and Victor's wife Lupe) Sotelo; his parents, Eustacio and Refugio Sotelo; sister-in-law Rose Castro; step-daughter-in-law, Mary Beatrice Romani. He is survived by his wife Mary, daughter, Cecilia Garza and husband Jaime of Kennedale, Texas; step-son John Augustus Romani of Laredo, Texas; granddaughters Gina Elizabeth and Anissa Garza, of Kennedale, Texas; step-granddaughter Michelle Marie Romani. of Laredo, Texas; brother-in-law Joseph Castro of Hawaii; nephew David Castro and wife Elaine also of Hawaii; niece Sylvia Stoneking and husband Darrell of Colorado; and numerous relatives. Nick was also a proud member of the Marine Corps League, the Veterans of Foreign War and the American Legion. A World War II combat veteran, Nick received the Purple Heart for injuries sustained in action in the South Pacific. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm on Thursday, February 23, at Wilke-Clay-Fish Funeral Home. Mass of the Christian Burial will be at held at 10:00 am on Friday, February 24, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church with Fr. Joseph Tomei, CSC officiating.
