Nic was an excellent guitarist and songwriter who performed on many stages throughout Austin. He was the driving force that resulted in the guitar being recognized as the official musical instrument of the State of Texas in 1997. He was also exceedingly clever and might have pursued a career in comedy, but his love of the guitar surpassed his many other interests. Recently, his magic tricks delighted and amazed both friends and strangers alike. Nic attended Austin High School, St. Edwards High School and the Southwest School of Electronics.
Nic is survived by his brother John Sucke III; his sister Katherine Wheeler Lyon; two nephews: John Sucke IV and Travis Quadlander; his niece Christina Hutchens; his beautiful cat Cassie; and numerous dear friends.
