Above all else, family came first for Nickolas. He is survived by his loving wife, Ashley Dupree Underwood (née Russell); their son, Bennett Davis Underwood (14); and their daughter, Henley Dupree Underwood (10). He took immense pride in nurturing his children's passions—championing Bennett's budding golf career and marveling at Henley's extraordinary talent in gymnastics. Friendships formed in childhood, or at any point in his life, were lifelong; his loyalty was unwavering, his support unconditional.
Nickolas will be remembered for his quiet generosity, his infectious enthusiasm, and his deep blue eyes that seemed to look right into your soul—always conveying a profound sense of understanding and love for whatever you were facing—paired with the steadfast, understated way he showed love to everyone around him.
