Noel Dwain Wells, 86, of Austin, Texas, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at his home surrounded by family. Born in Blanket, Texas to Claude Calvin and Velma Annie Wells, he raised his family throughout North and Central America while serving the United States Air Force and later retired in Austin.
Dwain was a passionate man who grew up enjoying horses and his cowboy lifestyle. While attending Blanket High School, he enjoyed being on the football team as well as making leather belts, bridles and saddle decorations. In his adult life, his passion was being a ham radio operator and traveling on family vacations in his RV.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Dorothy Janis Wells.
Dwain was proud of his four children, Lane Wells, Bruce Wells, Vance Wells, and Nancy Reznicek. He is survived by his children and their spouses; brothers, Harlon Wells and Derrol Wells; and his sweetheart, Darlene Mahanay. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Beau Wells and Ally Reznicek; as well as his many loving nieces, nephews, and other friends.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, May 31, 2017 in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home with Chaplain Gloria Gene Moore officiating. Graveside Services will be at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Rock Church Cemetery in Blanket, Texas.
