Norma Jean Kubicek of Austin passed away on July 31, 2026 at the age of 90. She was born February 9, 1936 to Matthew and Katherine Elizabeth Goertz in Rockne, Tx. She graduated High School from St. Mary’s Academy in Austin, TX May 1954. Norma and Joe Kubicek were married September 1, 1956 in Austin, Texas at St. Louis Catholic Church.
Norma was employed by The State Board of Insurance from 1968 – 1991 and was Supervisor of the Licensing Division.
Norma is preceded in death by her husband of 40 years Joe Kubicek, her sons Clifford Dale and Joe D. Kubicek, and her grandson Matthew Kubicek. She is survived by her loving family, daughter Lou Ann Maxwell and husband Greg; granddaughter Ashley Lenard and husband Craig and great grandchildren Harper and Case; granddaughter Sarah Dunagan and husband Ross and great grandchildren Avery and Rylynn. Her daughter Linda Sue Glover, and husband Curt, grandson Joe and wife Aileen and great grandchild Charlotte; and grandson Jacob and fiancé Alex. Her daughter-in-law Susan Kubicek, granddaughter Stephanie DeMeglio and husband Rodney, and great grandchildren Rylee, Hadley, and Logan. Grandson Cliff Kubicek, wife Victoria, and great grandchildren Scarlett and Austin.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at Cook Walden Chapel of the Hills 9700 Anderson Mill Rd. Austin, TX, on Tuesday, August 4th from 5:00-6:30 pm with a Rosary following by Deacon Robert from 6:30-7:00 pm.
A Mass will be held at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church, 9500 Neenah Ave., Austin, TX on Wednesday at 10:00am Officiated by Father Ryan and Deacon Mark. A reception will follow in the Church Dining Room of the PAC.
Norma’s final resting place beside her husband and departed sons will be held Wednesday afternoon at Austin Memorial Park on Hancock Drive to be attended by close family.
