Norma Ann (Picquet) Williams

On Monday, July 20, 2026, Sister Norma Ann Williams was called home and entered into eternal rest. Born on October 31, 1947, in New Orleans, Louisiana, she was the ninth child born to the loving union of the late Abel and Angella McKienney Picquet.

On September 4, 1965, Norma was joined in holy matrimony to Allen Williams Sr., and from this blessed union came three sons: Timeric Williams (Kim), Roeshawn Williams (Christine), and Tony Williams (Stephaine). Norma poured her heart into her husband and family, creating a home filled with love, guidance, warmth, and devotion.

As a mother, Norma was a source of strength, wisdom, and unwavering support. She was deeply committed to encouraging her sons to be successful, to stand up for themselves, to never allow anyone to disrespect them and to carry themselves with dignity and self-respect. She taught them to live by the Golden Rule – always treat others the way they wished to be treated. Her wisdom, strength, and unconditional love will continue to guide and inspire her family for generations to come.

Norma had a love for decorating and took great pride in making her home, as well as her sons’ homes, beautiful and inviting. She was truly gifted in making spaces feel warm, comfortable and full of life. She also had a love for fashion and carried herself with elegance and confidence, often adorned with rings on every finger and her beloved gold chains that reflected her unmistakable style.

At the heart of Norma’s life was a deep and abiding faith in God. She was baptized at Greater Open Doors Church, where her faith became the treasured foundation of her life. Above all, she believed in putting God first, and she allowed that faith to shine through in the way she loved, encouraged, and cared for those around her.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Abel and Angella McKienney Picquet; her father- and mother-in-law, Allen Williams Sr. and Beatrice Williams; her sisters, Pearl Griffin (Walter), Elizabeth Cosse (Elliott), Bernice Reddick (Ed), and Ida Mae Tate (John); her brothers, Harold Picquet (Juliette), Wallace Picquet (Gloria Mae), and Eugene Picquet (Melvina); and her sister-in-law, Doris Isidor (Roland).

Left to cherish her beautiful memory are her grandchildren, Shamir Arron, Timisha Williams, Dylan Williams, T.J. Williams, Terrell Williams, Nimah Williams (Peaches), and Jaden Williams; and her great-grandchildren, Rahniya Bailey (Plum), Kyazh Williams, and Kendrich Williams.

She is also lovingly remembered by her sisters, Alice Bartholomew (the late Chris) and Diane Frederick (John), as well as many cherished in-laws, relatives, and extended family members, including Anna Mae Isidor (Claude Sr.), Joyce Enclaude (the late Terry Sr.), Margie Enclaude (the late Michael Sr.), Williama Taylor, Kathleen Griffin (the late Elvis), Alvin Williams (the late Paulette), Irvin Williams (Joann), and Alton Williams.
