O'Gene Gill Williams passed away on December 4, 2020. O'Gene, loving wife of Lewis Lanier Williams and mother of John Norwood Williams and Nancy Elizabeth Williams Wyatt, passed away at the age of 90. O'Gene was born May 4, 1930 in San Angelo, Texas to Thomas Lafayette Gill and Velma Monroe Gill. She married Lewis on June 9, 1962 in Midland, Texas.
O'Gene graduated from Tahoka High School in 1948 and from North Texas State, Denton, Texas in 1950 with a BS in Elementary Education. She taught 4th grade in Midland, Texas from 1950-1962. She then taught 5th grade at Armstrong Elementary in Highland Park Independent School District in Dallas, Texas. She also served as a clerk/typist at Convair in Fort Worth over the summers of 1955-1956.
O'Gene is survived by her husband Lewis; sister Nancy Gill Srygley; son Norwood (Monica) Willliams; daughter Nancy (Kenneth) Wyatt; grandchildren Lauren (John) Meindl, Sam Williams, and Olivia Williams; and 3 great granddaughters Molly Meindl, Cate Meindl, and Annie Meindl.
Funeral and memorial services will be planned at a later date when the extended family can safely gather to remember, honor, and celebrate her life.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Presbyterian Church of Austin or the American Heart Association.
