

Oswald C. Wiruscheske, died January 1, 2007 at the age of 88. He was blessed with a 54 year marriage to his wife Rea, who survives him along with his son and daughter-in-law, Carl and D.J. Cearley Wiruscheske; daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Don Lloyd; grandsons, Garrett and Hunter Wiruscheske; brother, Marvin Wieruscheske; sister, Junette Gowen; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Oswald is preceded in death by parents, Adolf and Emma Wiruscheske; brother, Roland Wiruscheske; and infant sister, Caroline Wiruscheske. Oswald was born April 14, 1918 in the Richland/Cele community, east of Austin. He attended school in the Richland community and was drafted into the United States Army Air Force in WWII, serving as an aviation mechanic. After the war, he and his family purchased a farm in Manor now known as Manor Downs. After marriage to Rea Wendlandt in 1952 he moved to Austin to work and raise his family. He retired from CSI in the 1980s. Oswald loved his family, his church, hunting, making deer sausage, and going to garage sales. He was a big sports fan and enjoyed watching his grandsons play. He was a member of Austin Saengerrunde, Hermann Sons Lodge and was a charter member of Lord of Life Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 3rd at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2007 at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 9700 Neenah Dr., Austin, 78717. Burial will follow at the cemetery at St. Johns Ev.
