Otto M. Friedrich

He was baptized at Grace Lutheran Church, Austin on May 25, 1941 by Rev. Martin Studtmann and was confirmed at Grace, March 29, 1953 by Rev. O. T. Zeeb. He later became a charter member at Hope Lutheran Church, June 5, 1960.

Dr. Friedrich started as a Research Engineer with The University of Texas on September 1, 1961.

In the early years at the University of Texas he was appointed Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering, and was a Project Director/Research Engineer in Physics. Dr. Friedrich concluded his 48-year career in 2009.

In his younger years, Dr. Friedrich enjoyed piloting private planes and fishing with his father but he has always cared for animals, especially cats.

Dr. Friedrich was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Lillie Friedrich, and his sister, Lillian Kieke. He is survived by colleagues, friends and several cousins.

Reverend Peter Heckmann will preside over graveside services being held Monday, August 22, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery.
