

Paul grew up in Lubbock, Texas where he was drafted in the U.S. Army in 1967 as a Spc 4. Paul served in the Vietnam War, was wounded, and received an honorable discharge in 1969. He then joined the Army National Guard as an SSG-G6 in 1972 and retired in 1995. Paul was an extraordinary tile setter by trade who always took pride in all his workmanship which is proudly displayed throughout Austin.
Paul met the love of his life, Juanita (Jaynie) Varela in 1968 in Austin, Texas where they married on December 7, 1968, and began their family life together in Austin. Paul fiercely loved to gather with his family and friends, travel with his wife, and golf with his friends and brothers-in-law.
Paul is survived by his wife of 53 years, Juanita (Jaynie). Five children, Jeri Pulido (Victor), Joni Guerrero (Ramiro), Robert Lucio (Rachel), Paul Sulaica III (Vicky) and Dolores Sulaica (Carrie Gonzales). Eleven grandchildren, Victor Michael Pulido (Marie Nichols), Megan Pulido, Laura, Clarissa and Geoffrey Guerrero, Robert, and Bianca Lucio, Ashli Sulaica Jefferson (Paul), Xavier Sulaica, Fabian Baca (Sarah), Desiree Mercado (Jonathan). Twelve great-grandchildren. And two sisters, Carolina Rodriguez (Cosme), and Lydia Cepeda. He also leaves behind a hosts of beloved brother and sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Olga Aguirre, brothers, Oswaldo, Oscar, and Arturo Juarez.
