On April 16th, Pam, aka "Pamelita" Bible Warren decided that the bicycle lanes in Austin had finally driven her over the edge. Surrounded by the love of her life of 31 years and her family, she sailed into the mystic.
Pam was born to Ollie and Philip Bible. Jr. on July 24, 1951, in Austin, Texas. She attended Matthews Elementary, O'Henry Junior High, and graduated from Austin High School. She was an original Austinite, hard to come by, and knew all the back roads--which was fortunate because she had no sense of direction and frequently got lost, including in Central Market where she vowed never to go again and never did. She adopted her aunt's motto of "if you can't get there from Enfield and Exposition, you don't need to go."
Pam graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Education. This is very notable because her dad commented on how long it took. Pam replied, "I was on the 10-year program Dad, and I graduated two years early." She was a Longhorn extraordinaire! If you had any sense at all, you knew not to dare interrupt her while watching a football game.
In the professional world, Pam dedicated her life to public service and built a successful and respected career with the State of Texas, serving as Supervisor at the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts, where she was loved and adored for nearly 40 years.
Her professionalism, leadership, and commitment to excellence made a lasting impact on those she worked with throughout her career.
After retirement, Pam embraced life fully, spending her time traveling, making treasured memories with her grandchildren, and finding time to watch True Crime documentaries and, of course, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills; but only for the fashion.
Pam displayed integrity, honesty, and graciousness, in a runway model package, in everything she did. With her strawberry blonde hair and striking blue eyes, she was incredibly lovely, possessed a great sense of fashion, and wouldn't think of leaving the house without her makeup on and her hair done. She loved cocktails at five while watching the news, a good ribeye steak and baked potato and most of all, bread with a lot of real butter, a trait she inherited from her mother.
Most importantly, Pam was committed to her family. When she loved you, she loved you with a fierceness that few will ever experience. She was our princess and our warrior.
In discreet and reserved manner, Pam quietly fought her battle with cancer with dignity and grace. There will be a void in our hearts that will never be filled by another.
Pam leaves behind, her husband and best friend Dale Lykins, with whom she danced across Texas and Life with; her brother Philip Bible, III (Gwyn); her nieces Katherine Wilson (Clay); Sarah Jane Currens (Cody) and their children, Braxton and soon to be “Lollie” Wilson, and Kip and Hayes Currens. Pam treated Dale’s children as her own and is survived by daughters Avery Paiz, Coree Perez, (Erik) and son Jeryd Lykins (Nichol). Pam adored being “Nana” to grandchildren Ezekiel, Avianna, Liam, Elisha, Ariya, Landon, and Avelyn. She also leaves behind her cousins with whom she shared a lifetime of adventures, Melanie Walters (Bill); Mike Coyle (Laura); Lisa Conley, and Kristin Cornelis.
She was preceded in death by her parents and cousin Patty Coyle Hagans.
She will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her steady strength, and the love she gave so freely to those around her. Pam’s presence will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A Memorial service will take place at Weed Corley Fish, 5416 Parkcrest Dr., Austin, Texas on May 1, 2026 at 1:00 p.m., followed by interment at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery, 2800 Hancock Dr. A celebration of her life will be held at County Line on the Lake, 5206 Ranch Road 2222 following burial.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution to the Wounded Warrior Project, Alzheimer’s Texas, or St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital.
