Panashe Selina Masoha was born on the 14th of August 1995 at 00:20hrs the first born to Oswald and Sylvia Masoha, at the Avenue's Clinic in Harare Zimbabwe. She was married to Davion, becoming Panashe Selina Ayabarreno on the 16th of December 2018 in Fayetteville North Carolina. Panashe passed away on the 22nd of April 2023 in Round Rock Texas USA.
Having started nursery school at Ruvimbiko Montessori School, she attended Borrowdale School and Chisipite Junior and Senior schools where she was active in hockey and tennis teams as well as the schools’ orchestras and strings ensembles as a violinist.
Panashe embarked her international education in Swaziland in January 2013, at the United World College Kamhlaba (Waterford), where she graduated with her International Baccalaureate Diploma, as the only Music major in the school, studying and specializing in classical piano and violin as well as singing. She obtained a full academic scholarship to attend university in the USA.
Panashe joined the children's church ministry AWANA with neighborhood friends at Borrowdale Community Church (BCC) and eventually brought the entire family to the fellowship at BCC. She was a member of BCC children's church, and the BCC Youth, and was baptized after giving her life to Christ at a Youth Camp. Before leaving for University she went through pre-uni counseling and mentorship course, and was prayed out at BCC.
She studied at Methodist University in North Carolina where she met and fell in love with Davion. She decided to become a vegan and influenced Davion and some friends to do the same, a commitment she kept till the end. Whilst at Methodist, she was a Resident Assistant from Sophomore to Senior year, and was the Vice President of the Student Government Association. She sang in the school choir, The Chorale, and had a chance in 2016, to perform at the Carnegie Hall in New York. Panashe graduated from Methodist with a BSc in Marketing, on 4 May 2019.
Before starting university, Panashe embarked on a worldwide tour with the Semester at Sea (SAS) program hosted by University of Virginia. She traveled to the USA including Hawaii, Mexico, Japan, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Burma, Vietnam, India, Mauritius, South Africa, Namibia, Morocco and the United Kingdom. She is part of the alumni.
After graduating, she and Davion made their first move as a couple to Atlanta where Panache worked at AT&T. At AT&T, she received a top sales award, for being the #2 salesperson in the South Eastern region at Summit. She also worked at Yale University Explo Program in New Haven Connecticut and Keller Williams Realty in Austin Texas. She also created and operated a hair company called Beyond Bundles.
She is survived by her husband Davion, daughter Kyla Nakai, her parents, sister Danai and brother Farai. She was loved, and will be missed by her friends, family, school and college mates, work colleagues, neighbors, and all whom she had the privilege to meet in her short life.
