Patricia attended schools in Marlin and Austin, TX. She entered UT at 16 and graduated in 1950 with a BA degree in Interior Design. Patricia moved to Corpus Christi to "Seek her fortune" and met a Naval Aviation Cadet at an ice cream party. They dated, and 6 months later she proposed to him, and they married on June 7, 1952. In the next 20 years there were two children, ten major moves, two wars, and many deployments. Her motto became "if you think it is tough being a Marine -try being a Marines' wife." After Rudy retired, they traveled over a good part of the world, much of it on a motorcycle.
Patricia leaves behind her husband of 63 years, Rylen; son Steve and wife Tracy; daughter Robin; and grandson Stuart and wife Anneliese.
