Patricia A. Smith

Patricia Anderson Smith born in East Orange New Jersey on October 12, 1931 past away Jan 4th 2011 at her home in Austin TX. Born and raised in the east she graduated from the University of New Hampshire after marring and having children she lived in Arizona and Back to New Jersey before moving to Austin in 1978. Most often called “Granma”, “Mom” or “Pat” by her friends lived in Westlake on Mistywood drive. She retired from the Eanes School District in 1992 where she was a dietitian and Director of Nutrition Services. Her retirement was spent caring for her parents, grandchildren and beloved animals. Even when her health began to fail she was interested in politics and national news. Mom cared about the people that worked for her, people. Our Mom passed on to us the gift compassion, empathy and forgiveness for people. “Always follow the golden Rule” do on to others as you would have them do on to you. Many thanks to Dr. Nima Amjadi, Dr. James Boysen for their care. We can not say enough how blessed we all were for the care of Dr. Allen Sonstein his wife B.J. and the office staff Lisa, Erica and Jenifer. Thanks to Robinson Creek Hospice especially Marlene and Father Barry Thiering. Thanks to Ron Taylor for all his help with moms house.

Patricia is survived by her daughter, Susan Triggs and her children, Katie Katherine 18, Kasey 12, Abbey 10; her son, Owen Smith and his children, Hanna 15, Zane 12, Phoebe 10. Patricia survived also by best friend, Beryl Pembleton; her cousin, Alva Anderson; and dear friends, Alita, Claudia Martins, Bruce and Judy Wheeler, Hugo Sevcik, Howe and Gillcrist family and many other who are so important. Her dogs, Jenna and Maria Cats Calvin, Corey and Hendrix along with Birds Ma and Pa.

Funeral service will be held 6:00 PM on Friday, January 7, 2011 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, South Congress. Burial will be in George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus, New Jersey.
