Pat lived a rich and rewarding life filled with lifelong friendships, travel, adventure, and awareness.
The youngest of five, Pat is survived by siblings John (wife, Kathy, in Independence, MO) and Dorothy Spicka (husband, Ed, in Huntington, MD). Preceding Pat in death are his sister, Joanne Tresnak, brother, Robert Davidson, as well as his parents, Bernice and Forrest L. Davidson.
A renowned rum expert & blender, Pat was a judge at the International Rum competition for 10 years. His passion for the spirit was contagious.
An avid motorcyclist, Pat competed in Observed Trials for 25 years, as well as motorcycle racing. He has driven motorcycles in “every state and province in N. America, except southern Mexico.” He retired at 31 and traveled for 10 years to Europe, with extended visits to the Far East & the Caribbean. When he retired for the 2nd time (age 55) he celebrated by taking several 4-month long trips on his motorcycle, exploring Alaska and Canada. Many times, he visited Hawaii to be with friends. Over the years, some of his favorite trips were those with his Austin friends: The “Bull Grackles”.
His passion for life was legendary. No matter where he worked or traveled, Pat developed & maintained longtime friendships. Described as generous, honest, loyal and kind, Pat was a true friend in every sense.
Pat was known for his love of Oktoberfest and St. Patty’s Day (celebrating in his green, Irish attire). He delighted friends & neighbors with his amazing Halloween decorations.
For two decades, Pat volunteered at Eeyore’s Annual Birthday Party at Pease Park in Austin, TX. His volunteer efforts extended to the Pease Park Restoration Project wherein 500 trees were planted.
Always involved with spiritual studies, Pat had a strong and secure inner knowing of place and purpose ~ recognized by others and a beacon for many.
Pat truly lived his motto: “Step in Time with the Rhythm of the Universe”. His clarity, humor, honesty, and curiosity enhanced the worlds he touched.
If so moved (and in lieu of flowers or donations), Pat requested you “do something anonymous for someone else - From your Heart ~ something that would make you feel good by doing it, be it a gift certificate to a nice restaurant that you know someone can’t afford (but loves), a plant that you leave with a little love note, a bottle of wine… as an act of kindness & generosity."
