Patsy and her husband Tommy were married on November 19, 1955 in Lovington, New Mexico. They had been married for 59 years. Tommy was employed at the Department of Public Safety. Their first son Keith was a baby when they were stationed in Floresville, TX. Shortly after, their second son Lonnie was born. Lonnie was diagnosed with a severe heart defect. That was a shock to Tommy and Patsy. During the following year, Patsy used her skills to become a seamstress. With her talent for sewing, she made clothes for the family and also the public. She made wedding dresses, clothes, curtains, pillow cases, etc. When Lonnie was 8 years old, he had a brain ulcer which left him blind. They moved to Austin so Lonnie could attend blind school. Patsy then found another talent that she had and began taking lessons in art oil paintings. Throughout the following year, she became very good and painted many beautiful pictures. She was also an excellent cook, which the family and others enjoyed. Patsy was a loving mother, grandmother, and recently, a great grandmother. The family attended Hyde Park Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school adult III secretary for nearly 30 years.
Patsy was preceded in death by her son Lonnie May and brother Kenneth Wilkins. Surviving members are husband Tommy May, son Keith May, grandsons Brian May, Kyle May, great grandson Kyle Thomas May, sisters Kay Mims, Hazel Moore, Sue Eison.
The family wants to especially thank Buckner Hospice and Park Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center for the wonderful and loving care they provided for Patsy. She loved the caregivers and was blessed to have been their patient.
