

PATSY R. (MAYBERRY) WILLIAMS died Monday, January 4, 2016 at home surrounded by family and angelic caregivers as well as wonderful folks from Heart to Heart Hospice. Her death was a result of COPD in addition to Rheumatoid Arthritis. She went to sit at the right hand of God, the Father. She was born near Italy, Texas to Frances and Leslie F. Mayberry on July 28, 1933.
She was a graduate of South Park High School, Beaumont and attended Lamar University and the University of Texas (while working at the Univ. of Texas as husband finished his degree.)
She and R. O. were married August 8, 1953 in St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Beaumont, and later became an integral part of the life of Trinity United Methodist Church. The two had shared 62 plus years of Happy Marriage. The couple has enjoyed many family vacations, trailering with their children, many tour trips of both the USA and Europe and especially a tour of the Holy Land. Patsy was very active in her children's activities and sports as they grew. At Trinity Church, she was named MOTHER OF THE YEAR FOR 1979, was active in the Ladies Altar Guild and the Hamaco Sunday School Class; she was Chairwoman of the 1979 Church Blood Drive and involved in The Friends of the Library, active in the Neches River Festival, Beaumont Civic Ballet, and the Women's Symphony League.
Her life was marked most by her love for her husband, children and grandchildren, all of whom she considered the greatest gifts from God. She and R.O. took great pleasure in having followed so many of the Volleyball games of their granddaughters and Baseball games of their grandsons.
She was a Loving and Supportive wife to R. O. Williams, Jr., was an amazing, loving, nurturing Mother to Robert O. (Bill) Williams III of Austin, Texas and Helen Suzanne Williams Stell of Dallas, Texas, a Super Mother-in-Law to Jill Williams and Gary Stell; an Adoring, Loving, Giving Grandmother to D. Taylor Stell, Brett A. Stell, Maddi Williams and Rory Williams.
She is also survived by two sisters, Judy Mayberry Bryant of Beaumont and Vicki Mayberry Aycock of Austin and their families, plus many other family members.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 3125 N. Lamar Blvd.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at Westlake Hills Presbyterian Church, 7127 Bee Cave Road. Interment will follow at Austin Memorial Park, 2800 Hancock Dr.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be sent to Gift Of Life or Some Other Place Mission (of which they were Founding laypersons) in Beaumont; the Ronald McDonald House, Austin; the Choir Scholarship Fund at Westlake Hills Presbyterian Church; or the June Shelton School and Evaluation Center in Dallas.
