Born on Valentine’s Day in Toledo, Ohio, Patty moved to San Angelo, Texas and eventually to Austin, Texas where she lives happily for over 50 years. As a graduate of San Angelo High School, Patty also lived in San Antonio, Dallas and the Panama Canal Zone.
Survivors include her husband, Ed; her son, Chris Baker and wife Maralinda; her daughter, Lisa and husband, Michael Bolton; her daughter, Gail Acree; and six grandchildren, Meredith, Maddi, Brett, Lauren, Austin and Breezy, all of Austin, Texas.
Patty was proudly employed by the State Comptroller’s office, the Civil Aeronautics Administration, Braniff Airways and the Austin Chamber of Commerce.
She will be remembered as a devoted worshipper at Central Christian Church through more than five decades of faithful service. She also spent time as a Board Member and Sunday School teacher. Patty was well known for her tireless commitment to her community as demonstrated by her volunteer work with Brackenridge Hosptial, South Austin Hospital, the Brownies (Girl Scouts of the United States of America), the Boy Scouts of America and the Parent Teacher Association, among others.
Most importantly, Patty will be remembered as a wonderful mother and grandmotherto her children and grandchildren, who referred to her as “Nana”. She was a friend to all who knew her and will always be remembered for her kind heart, sagacious wisdom and matchless grace.

The funeral service will be conducted at ten o’clock in the morning on Wednesday, the 2nd of January 2013, at Central Christian Church, 1110 Guadalupe, Austin, Texas under the direction of Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas.
