Patty Holloway

Born April 12, 1942, to Mamie and Jesse Clement in Wichita Falls, Patty grew up in Big Lake, Texas. She moved to Austin in the 1960’s where she worked at the University of Texas. In 1966, she married Hudson H. Hill. They made their home in South Austin and, ultimately, Dripping Springs until his death in 1993.

In 2000, Patty married John Holloway. A lover of history, mariachi music, and New Orleans, Patty took joy traveling extensively with John and their friends these past few years.

Vivacious, fun loving, and witty, Patty was a fantastic conversationalist – often with an edge. She enjoyed spending time visiting with friends and cooking and entertaining for those she loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mamie and Jesse Clement; first husband, Hudson Hill; and brother, Donald Clement.

She is survived by her husband, John Holloway of Austin; son, Val Joe Hill of Austin; grandson, Chance Hudson Hill of Austin; sister, Lois Caddell of Rowlett; sister, Phyllis Crews of San Angelo; numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 17, 2010 in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Phillips Cemetery in Dripping Springs.

As an expression of sympathy, flowers may be sent; memorial contributions may also be made to Hospice Austin.
