

Paul Jacobs, 67, of Round Rock, Texas, passed away on June 8, 2026 surrounded by family. Born on January 19, 1959, he was the eldest son of James and Margilee Jacobs. Paul grew up in Palatine, IL and graduated from Palatine High School in 1977. After graduation, Paul joined the US Army and was stationed in Germany. After serving his country, Paul attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting in 1985. Paul was hired by Shell Oil Company, and pursued a career in Finance there for 34 years, while earning his MBA and CPA license along the way.
Paul chose to retire in the Austin area to be near family. He enjoyed exercising by riding his bike (regular and stationary) about 10 miles each day while maintaining a healthy diet. His main hobbies were watching football, playing his guitar, keeping up with financial news, walking his goldendoodle (Claire), doing puzzles and playing with his precious grandchildren.
Paul was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, neighbor and friend. He is preceded in death by his parents. Paul is survived by his two children (Ashley Fraser and Aaron Jacobs), son-in-law (Cole Fraser), two grandchildren (Callan (5) and Ella (3), and three siblings (Steve Jacobs, Leslie Jacobs and Cari Towne).
The family would like to thank the caring and compassionate experts at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas for doing everything they could to diagnose and treat Paul’s very rare and complex condition. The doctors and nurses fought alongside Paul and his family until his last day.
Paul accepted Jesus Christ as his savior at the age of 11 and regularly attended Hill Country Bible Church while he lived in Austin. Paul’s faith was built around Jesus’ greatest commandment found in Matthew 22:36-40 - Love God & Love your neighbor as yourself.
Paul’s celebration of life will take place at Hill Country Bible Church’s North Auditorium located at 12124 Ranch Rd 620 N, Austin, Texas on June 29th, 2026 at 11 AM.
