Paul was born February 22, 1934 to Arthur and Elsie (nee Kirchmeyer) Schnack in Cushing, Oklahoma. He was the fifth of seven children, but the first boy. He graduated from Cushing High School and New Mexico State University.
In 1954 Paul joined the Army of the United States, spending some time in Japan, and was honorably discharged in 1958 as a Sergeant.
Paul was a dedicated and accomplished Data Processing Professional. Though he was involved in the early days of personal computers, his specialty was systems design and programming of mainframes. After retiring from years with Sperry Corporation, he continued in the field traveling and fulfilling projects throughout the country. His most recent contracts were with the State of Texas, State of Virginia, and Travis County, Texas. He continued working well into his seventies and was well respected by all who knew him.
Paul is preceded in death by his parents and his sisters Pauline Blotz, JoAnna Hughes, Katherine Pope, and LuElla Jean Schnack, and his beloved boxer Boomer. He is survived by his wife Sharon, brother Harold (Peggi) Schnack, sister Arlene Schnack, and numerous nieces and nephews. Paul is also survived by his bonus family, stepdaughters Robin Field and Judith (James) Lewis, stepsons Ronald (Heather) Field, Aaron (Mauri) King, and Jacob (Katherine) King, and bonus grandchildren James, Kyra (Ty), Lacey, Macaden, Norie, Owen, Clyde, Esther, Hannah, Sophie, Ethan, Elizabeth, Juliette, Coffland, Bailee, Kendall and Kamryn. Though he integrated well into his new Texas family, he remained a proud Oklahoman all his life.
The family would like to thank Gentiva Hospice, Texas Oncology-Kyle, Ascension Seton, and the Kyle Fire Department lift-assist for the care and compassion they showed Paul in his final days.
