Pauline V. Lucas of Austin died peacefully on Monday, July 12, 2004, at the age of 91. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and strived for perfection in everything she did. Beauty and style were integral parts of her life defined by her personal fashion and her artistic and creative qualities. She was as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside and will be missed by those who knew her. The most important aspects of her life were her only daughter, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was the shining light of her family. Left to cherish her life and celebrate her memory are her daughter, Ann Sanders; grandchildren, Rob Sanders and wife Melanie, Steven Sanders, Suzanne Vaughan and husband Mark; great-grandchildren, Zachary and Taylor Vaughan, all of Austin. She was the widow of Laurence Razzetti and Merritt Lucas. She is preceded in death by her sister, Veronica Farella and son-in-law, Robert (Bob) Sanders. Pauline was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Ignatius Martyr Church. This was reflected in her love and faith in God until the end. A Mass will be said in her memory on Sunday, August 1, 2004, at 5:00 p.m. She shared her life with many friends from Eberhart Place, where she lived for twelve years, and for the past two years at Park Bend Health Center. Special thanks to the staff and volunteers at Park Bend and to Dr. Peggy Russell for their loving care and support during her residency. A family memorial will be held at a later date. Pauline loved flowers. Those desiring, may make a contribution in her name to the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, 4801 La Crosse, Austin, Texas 78739.
