Peggy Ann Al-Nassar Alexander passed away unexpectedly at her home in Pensacola, Florida on Wednesday, September 25, 2013. Ms. Alexander’s sunrise was September 23, 1950, on a U.S. military base hospital ship in Fukuoka, Japan. In 1968, she met and married her prince charming, Abdulwahab Al-Nassar, a Saudi National, studying engineering at Arizona State University. After their wedding, Peggy accompanied her husband back to his native country, the kingdom of Saudi Arabia. They built their first home in the Eastern province city, Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia and resided there for 8 years, during which time their two children, Ahab and Angela were born. After world travel, the family then built a home in Austin. Peggy studied business at St. Edwards University. She chose the sleepy little area of Westlake and the Eanes Independent School District for which to raise and educate her children.
Tragedy struck the family in the summer of 1988 with the accidental motor vehicle death of their 17 year old son, Ahab. After years of intense grief and during the most difficult years after her son’s death, Peggy found some solace in volunteering her time to the non-profit service, “Therapy Pet Pals of Central Texas”, as well as a grief support group volunteer. In 1994, Peggy started and ran a successful company “Alexander’s Particular Pets”. In 2006 she retired early and moved to the beautiful city of Pensacola, Florida.
Peggy was preceded in death by her son, Ahab; both parents; four brothers; and two sisters.
She is survived by her daughter, Angela Al-Nassar; several grandchildren, and her little Pug dog named “Miss Dolly”…she loved Pugs. Peggy has many friends worldwide. She will be missed so, so much, especially by her daughter, grandchildren and dearest friend of 38 years, Susan Tarasar Gonzales.
Graveside Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, October 11, 2013 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park’s, Garden Of Serenity with Dr. Ken Baldwin to officiate.
Flowers are welcomed, but you may also contribute, in Peggy’s memory, to the Animal Shelter of your choice.
